There are a few different variations of this cocktail floating around. Jeff prefers a slightly higher proportion of gin to balance against the sweetness of the other ingredients. This is a perfect patio cocktail.

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

• 2 oz. gin

• 0.75 oz. fresh lemon juice

• 0.25 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

• 0.25 oz. Creme de Violette

• Shaker

• Hawthorne strainer

• Fine mesh strainer

• Lemon twist or wheel (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in the shaker and top with ice. Shake vigorously for at least 10 seconds. Double strain the cocktail through the Hawthorne strainer and mesh strainer in your glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or lemon wheel if you’d like.
